Coming soon in May - Wednesday Evening Study

Ways for Exploring the Bible (and other texts both sacred & secular)

“An intelligent understanding of the Bible is indispensable to anybody in the Western world who wishes to think wisely about religion. By no possibility can any one of us be independent of the Bible’s influence. Our intellectual heritage is full of its words and phrases, ideas and formulas. Ignorance of it constitutes a hopeless handicap in the endeavour to understand any great Western literature.”

Harry Emerson Fosdick

Beginning on Wednesday May the 12th Pastor John will be offering a short course on Biblical Exegesis and Interpretation. This study is not to tell you how to understand the Bible but to give you some of the tools used to explore and understand it on your own terms. Just for your information these various methods that are used in Biblical Exegesis can also be applied to literature as well as to other sacred texts.

  1. Hi, welcome to the Unitarian blogging community! I have created a UK Unitarian blog aggregator at http://unitariancommunications.blogspot.com/p/blogs.html and wondered if you would like to link to it.
